Q&A: Joint Commission’s 2025 hospice accreditation changes
The March edition of The Joint Commission’s Perspectives announced that as of March 30, 2025, accreditation surveys for hospices would include a Life Safety Code® (LSC) surveyor. This comes as part of a group of new and revised requirements for deemed hospices, such as protecting patient property from being misappropriated (RI.01.06.03, element of performance [EP] 1) and making a good faith effort to hire enough nurses to provide sufficient services (LD.04.03.03, EP 21).
