From the AHAP Blog: AHAP Conference Contest: Timing and dating

The AHAP Blog is running a contest for a drawing to win a free seat to its annual conference in Las Vegas to be held on May 6-7, 2010. The contest will pick a monthly AHAP member as the winner in March and April.

Our latest entry comes from Shelia Hull, RN, Joint Commission Specialist at Pikeville Medical Center. Shelia writes:

I am attaching a couple of tools that I use in monitoring compliance from our physician’s with timing and dating of orders. The first tool is a simple audit tool, which we use weekly until we have audited 70 charts per month. It is broke down into components of date and time, both of these items count as one entry. When we complete our audits, I average out the physician’s compliance percentage. I then put the results onto what I have labeled as the Physician’s Report Card, (second insert). The legend is at the top of the card. I have printed these off in bright green, yellow and red colors. I then place these in each physician’s box for them to review.
