Critics of Partnership for Patients program question validity of outcomes
When the Partnership for Patients (PfP) program was announced in April 2011, it was billed by CMS Administrator Don Berwick as "the largest national effort on patient safety that we've ever seen." With a $1 billion price tag, paid for by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) through the Affordable Care Act, the public-private initiative seemed poised to meet those expectations.
