Discuss how these changes will impact organizations accredited under multiple Joint Commission programs

In November 2011, The Joint Commission issued a revised version of standard IC.02.04.01, regarding the influenza vaccine for licensed independent practitioners (LIP) and staff. This standard applied to all accreditation programs.

It is once again time to take a close look at this standard and its implementation date: hospitals, critical access hospitals, and long-term care accreditation program participants will have to comply beginning July 1. (All other Joint Commission accreditation programs will be phased into the standard, with elements of performance [EP] 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, and 9 taking effect July 1, but EPs 5, 6, and 8 going into effect a year later.)
