A new Sentinel Event Alert from The Joint Commission addresses the misuse of single-dose/single-use vials, which has led to outbreaks of bloodborne pathogens and associated infections.
The Joint Commission now requires that accredited organizations complete or request extensions for any Plans for Improvement that exceed the projected completion date by more than six months.
